Very confused
Sean had the camera for just a matter of days before he started publishing the results of his tests. He made no secret of that. He made it precisely clear exactly what tests he had done, and described clearly and honestly how they turned out. The fact that these tests did not immediately show the issues should not be held against him. The fact that one of the M8 issues - the "magenta cast / IR filter" problem, can actually be discerned in a few of his test pix, with hindsight, is irrelevant. In contrast, I do find it strange that after going through the entire product development cycle, Leica seems not to have been aware of these matters. However, they have now come out with a clear statement they are doing something about it. There seems there is a good chance there will eventually be a fix. Just to put it on record (again), there are several issues:halabar said:The defensiveness that I have seen on the part of the reviewers is part of the problem. A simple "Yeah, I f*cked up, should have seen that" would go a long way to calm the waters. The attacks are overboard, but so is the defense.
But really, the signs of the IR problem were there. Didn't anyone notice?... I didn't.

I *think* that's it.
