I'm not sure that you do actually "get it"; otherwise your "weird thought" wouldn't have made its way from brain to finger, however I also truly don't believe Boris intended to attack you personally - his intention was to attack stupidity, which was merely using you as a vessel at the time.
Seriously, is this sort of vitriol called for for a poster just throwing out ideas and trying to be helpful?

Completely agree with L. Collins. I read the last couple of posts and was dumbfounded.
Relax all... no need to fight over this stuff. I think it could be a useful thread, so I don't want to have to close it.

Only in your imagination are you in a position to demand anything.

You don't get it. The buyer knows all the little tricks and intended to cheat the seller from the beginning.
He is not interested in a legitimate claim.

Why the acerbic tone? There's plenty of other forums for that.

I'm glad I could be of use to both you and Boris...and I hope that you too have a better day...and seriously..I do get it...

Something similar happened to me a few years ago. With a Rolleiflex TLR. The buyer claimed there was a crack in the taking lens upon receipt. He didn't want to return it — he wanted some money back.
But, before i ship anything critical, i take pictures as i'm packing the box. EXIF shows the item in perfect condition with the time and date that corresponds to a few minutes before it leaves my hands. It also documents the thoroughness with which i've packed the item. When confronted with that, the buyer disappeared.
I also notified PayPal at the time of his first correspondence regarding the matter, hoping for a 'pre-emptive' notation on the account....
