Australia/New Zealand Sydney meetup 2018

It looks like we haven't had a Sydenney meetup for over a year, or at least RFF search won't allow me to call the history up. So who's in for a meet between now and Christmas?

Sunday 12/11, Saturday 25/11 and Sunday 10/12 are not good for me and after Sunday 10/12 I won't be available till January, but no one has to base his/her choice on my availability. I am just the facilitator here.

Sunday 19/11 is the Camera Market in Ultimo which I am planning to go to but I wont be able to meet directly after it because I have to rush off. I can rejoin after 3.00 pm though. Hopefully I'll see some of you at the market.

Everyone welcome, previous attendance not essential, nor really is RFF membership or residence in Sydney.

Quejai and Caleb have indicated they will bring the next working prototype of their Wonder Scanner, which I for one am looking forward to seeing.

Everyone put their dibs in for a date please.

I have a stand at Camera market. Right hand side 3 from the door. I'm interested in meet up but not Saturday 25th Nov or 10th December.

Thanks for the responses, anindyo and kangaroo2012. I'll be sure to say hello at the market, K2012. Anindyo, hope I see you there too. I'll be going at 10 am when it opens and can only stay no more than an hour.
 
Hi Peter,

Sunday 26/11 is no good for me, I've entered a down-river race on the Clarence. I could probably get down for the 19/11 and certainly could make it for the first weekend in December. It would be great to catch up with everyone before the end of the year. (I'm glad I don't have to be a resident of Sydney :) ).

The 19th is probably too much of a stretch for me as that’s my first day home after a week away. If I have the energy for an early drive from Canberra you might just see me!
 
Looks like I won't be coming down the weekend of the 19th. The Mullumbimby Music Festival is on that weekend and it is an event not to be missed. The venues are all through the town as well as food stalls and free pop up gigs. Even if I don't see many acts I should at least get some good photos. However, there is a fair chance I will be around on the first weekend in December, so at least you and I should be able to catch up for coffee, Peter.

BTW, I've gone over to the dark side :D. Just started a 6 week Photoshop course at the Byron Community College. Thought I might meet some fellow photographers to hang out with. Instead I am the only male and the women are all involved in graphic design. When I told the teacher what I wanted to get out of the course, she called it "old school Photoshop". Jeez I miss Kodachrome :(.

Clay, that's the saddest thing I've heard in a long time, Old School Photoshop indeed.
Definitely up for coffee when you come down, as long as it's before December 15th.

So having said that, and reading the replies above: everyone, how about an RFF meetup on either Sunday 3/12 or Saturday 9/12?

Venue suggestions? In the past we have met up at Jet Bar coffee shop at the south entrance of the Queen Victoria Building, but all ideas will be considered.

Raj, it would be great to see you again. At the rate of responses in this thread, it may be that January/February is when we all meet up.

Sunday 3rd December or Saturday 9th December are both OK with me.
I will be beck from Victoria in February so if you can stand 2 meet ups that would let us meet Raj again.

Cheers for herding this meetup again; the 9th works for me and I’m pretty sure it will work for Caleb too. Keen to see what we can drag along. Based in sydney so future meetups also workable.
 
Sorry folks looks like the 9th is out for me. My sister is having all her family including my nephews and nieces over on Sunday 3rd. As much as I would like to catch up with all of you, it will be the last chance I have to see them before Xmas and I don't want to miss the opportunity so I'll fly down that weekend instead. I'll probably make a long weekend of it, Friday to Monday so I will be around the rest of the time for coffee :).

Sorry, I am keen to meet up but 9 December is not good for me. Given most of the other dates until late January, early Feb have been ruled out, I do not know what to suggest.

I will be at the Camera Fair from approx 10am onwards but generally don't stay more than an hour. I will wear a Panama hat and anyone interested in a coffee is welcome to find me.

So Sunday's market was fun, as usual. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet some of you there but I did see LynnB, Tim Read and kangaroo2012.
With our meetup, the hot news is that Jonmanjiro, our one and only Australian RFF moderator, will be in Sydney on 9/12 so I suggest that day for our meetup. Say 2.30pm at QVB Jet Bar/Cafe? Open to other venues and times too. Come and meet the Great Sensei!
 
Sorry I missed you guys at Yesterday's markets.
For 9/12 I can probably be in the city by 4:30-ish so I'll catch you guys then.
