hi folks, if anyone is interested in helping fund having a documentary photographer amongst the civilian population in Homs over the coming weeks please send me an email.

This is a touchy subject, but I would like to see RFF stay out of politics.
I would stay out of any politically motivated wars at RFF since all are losers in the end. Do you really want to see one extremist being replaced by another?
Is this strictly about helping out a fellow photographer who happens to live in Syria?

Raid, I must have missed the connection to politics in emraphoto's question. He seems to me quite straightforward that the project is documentary in nature, and it takes place among the civilian population: no talk about factions, politics, or a specific side in the syrian situation. Hopefully this thread can continue without spiraling into a political discussion.

i urge anyone who has interest in finding out more email me

emraphotoATyahooDOTca

i have a document that i can send that will explain

please folks, if you are interested or can help spread the appeal let me know. all other comments and 'advice' is superfelous

if one goes into homs for the purpose of documentary journalism, he/she is already siding with the anti-government camp. if one goes to photo with the government troops, it is a propaganda. reality is more complicated...

ok, lets try this again...

this is not a thread about the political situation in Syria or taking sides.

repeat, this is not a thread about the political situation in Syria or taking sides.

i appeal to all, if you want to argue the politics of the situation, start another thread

John - stay safe, a friend of mine - Pooyan Tabatabaei, (a Magnum scholarship award winner who has shot extensively in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere this past year during the 'Arab spring'), tried to get into Syria a few months ago but decided to turn back. If you're interested, I can connect you - you might find his experiences helpful. I believe you have my email address or PM me.

Be well.

Good luck, remember that bullets do not discriminate solider-photographer-child-rebel no matter, they kill everyone. Stay safe and keep your wits about what you are doing.
