R-mount...

Anyone use one of these lenses? There is a pretty good deal available and have not had much luck in finding out about this lens. So, just checking with the knowledge out there in RFF land....:)

f2.8 SP, Dave ? Has a very good reputation.

I use the Tokina ATX, supposed to be similar.

I have two of the Tamron SP 80-200 f2.8. Big, heavy chunk of metal and glass. Outstanding build and image quality. Capable of excellent sharpness even at full aperture and very easy to focus. Supposedly contains ED type glass element to control CA. Typically comes with heavy duty, matched lens hood and tripod mount. Very versatile due to Adaptall 2 mount, so can be used on most cameras, film or digital. Some excellent reviews on the net.
If you don't mind a heavy lens, I highly recommend it. Handles pretty decently on my OMs, as long as I have a motor drive attached. Not particularly close focusing though.
