Hi all,
I recently received this lens as a gift. It was attached to an old, russian Leica screwmount copy. It's in pretty much perfect condition; I say it's never really been used.
Looking around online, I couldn't find out much about it other than it's quite rare and only ever came with a British Reid camera.
Does anyone have and info on it?

You got a fine lens there, it is even nicer than the Cooke Amotal 2 inch lens.

Superb lens! I had one many years ago and found it at least as good as a collapsible Summicron I owned at the same time.
Given that I lived in Bristol at the time it could have been the same one citizen99 encountered...
Cheers,
R.

Thanks everyone for the information!
I'm almost afraid to use it now! Would I seriously devalue it if I put some hours on it? I has no occlusions/scratches ect.
For anyone who's interested, here are some bad (cheapo phone) photos of my precious.

Congratulations on your acquisition. Yes, it's a fine lens. I doubt that you would seriously devalue it by simply using it (though probably best to keep it extended rather than add wear to the collapsing/extending mechanism).

I don't think Taylor Taylor Hobson / Cooke made a bad lens. I shoot everything from Cine to Large Format with some of their lenses, and from the 1890s to the 1950s. They always have a nice look. My Ivotal 2 inch in F1.4 is a real keeper.
