If You are Even Thinking About Istanbul!
I must admit that Istanbul destroyed my preconceived notions. The Turkish people are just too friendly and gracious. Other then having too many encounters with rug merchants and learning more about carpets then I really want to know, Istanbul has been fabulous. History is everywhere as are the photo opportunities. And the food!
I ended up bringing a new Leica Dlux5 and a blad loaded with TriX. I only got the blad on a trade for an M about a week before this trip. It was a mistake not bringing an M as I have been using them for years and have not used a blad since 1987. And the Dlux5 is great.

I am glad that you left Turkey with good memories. Please share your photos when you have time 
Soon I am moving back to Europe and I will spend half of April and May in Turkey. I am willing to make a trip to Istanbul, where I was born...I am excited.
