The xm1 w/ 27 looks more like a p&s. The 23 is pretty big in comparison.. Btw..I thought u had the eos m for your everyday carry.. Did u sell it?
Gary
i did sell the eos m...
i'm too neurotic to have different systems going at the same time...

what?
The XM (or XA) with the 27 is a wicked excellent carry-around setup. Nice to handle. Great images.

Wides on LCD screens work very nicely. It's why the Ricoh GR is so popular..
You may be surprised to find the 16 on the XM1 most of the time. It's just easier to compose wide views on an LCD
Which grip is it coming with?
I really can't say enough about the Nylon Grips I'm using now. The contoured front and thumby built into the grip is genius!
only 38 grams

I agree... I hate normals or teles on LCDs but the Ricoh just works right that way.

How is the distortion on the 16? My 24/2.8 Nikkor made footballs out of peoples heads where as the CV 25 didn't.
I know my mileage may vary and what I call a football, other folks say looks fine.....
Thanks.

I've been away from the Internet for a couple of days, so sorry for the late reply.
Yes, go for it.
I have an xm1 married to the 27 with a CV external 35finder, for compact.
As well as an xe2 with 16-50 zoom, and 12mm Rokinon, for versatile.
I see no difference in output, but I'm just using jpegs.

Andy, what on earth is up with the Pentax front ring on your X100?!!?
edit: oh, wait, is that one of those weird hoods the DA lenses sometimes come with? I never owned that one...

neck or wrist strap?
i'm thinking wrist...

what?
neck or wrist strap?
i'm thinking wrist...
I've go both ways, depending on my mood and how much shooting I expect. Lots of pictures = wrist strap. I am "right handed" so I put the wrist strap on my left wrist. Hanging with friends, not many pictures = neck strap.

winter is fast approaching and i think the xm/27 will fit nicely in my coat pocket...so the wrist strap would be my choice for now...
looking back at some of the posted pics the xm seems absolutely tiny.

A super lightweight wrist strap is plenty. I use a neck strap sometimes but usually just a little nylon cord loop strap.
