Its about a former employee suing gaga, and the employee is saying Richardsons photos are evidence. It doesn't have anything to do with Richardson fighting gaga...

As a primarily film photographer; producing 140000 for evidence is just a major burden on your time...I hope it takes him away from photography though

I'm sometimes impressed by how for some people the quality of their work is inversely proportional to the money they make off of it.

Frankly, I don't think Richardson has a shred of talent your average 17 year old in photo 101 doesn't have - he just has the money to gain access to people whose celebrity he can leach off of.

But I digress.

The story in question is sort of amusing for a number of reasons.

Controversy sells, man. From blog traffic to pseudo-porn books by Taschen, if there's a "creep" in the middle, it's gonna sell. The guy is raw, gutsy, and over the top. That sells. It sells magazines, it sells perfume, it sells prints. Maybe that's why the industry loves him, because the guy gets people talking. Honestly, I think he's far from being as bad as the stories try to paint him. I do not condone misleading clients and employes, but if someone signed be up for a shoot with this dude, I better know what's in store, and if step on my own foreskin in front of his camera....well, I stepped on my own foreskin in front of his camera

From some of the work that I've seen, it's curious to say the least.

Similar cases can be seen in all other mediums that fall under the scrutiny-happy public eye. The many lives of John Lennon anyone?

I assisted in the Penn / Avadon world, and the rule was - you never - ever - touched the models when in a working environment. You could ask them out for lunch, etc. after the shoot, but the stylists dealt with any close contact when working. That was the rule, and models always felt safe in our studio. Word travels fast. And yes, some models making 100 times the money the assistants made would go out for a burger and beer on an assistants pay. You gotta like tall, skinny, very pretty girls.. some are friends to this day.
