They both perked up when I fired the camera. I didn’t think it was that loud.

Who knows, maybe it will sprout a Farmall.

Cool
Looks good. I had one but gave it away during the christmas party for someone to fix up :)
The 28mm intriqued me at first. The xa3 with a 35mm is more my style.
Great little cameras!

Hi,

They are very good at this, too.

It was a mistake, btw; the shutter being light I fired it too soon whilst lining up the shot. Turns out it's a useful mistake as it shows how it's done by using the lanyard as a measure.

The Xa4 is a top little camera - all the goodness of the XA with even more ease of use, and a great close focus capacity as per the image above.

It's a handy thing, the XA4. Mine underexposes by two stops, so I have to compensate with the ISO setting, but it's not a big deal. I've found the lens surprisingly good, and it's made me appreciate the 28mm focal length, though the auto-exposure-only functionality is not my favorite.

Here's a recent shot on HP5+.

Thanks, Dave. I hadn't found a manual yet (my usual source doesn't have it), and wondered why that lanyard had a dual collored tab.

Hi,

Try here: http://www.cameramanuals.org/olympus_pdf/olympus_xa4.pdf Look on page 25 for the lanyard guide.

You seldom see XA4 manuals for sale apart from ones with the camera but I eventually found one at a price I could afford and still eat. The next problem, almost impossible to solve, will be the special adapter for the flash. Luckily I don't like flash or I'd be poverty stricken.

Thanks again, Dave. I guess I got confused as to which camera I was looking up the other night, and totally missed that.

LOL. I wonder what you would fertilize it with, steel shavings?

I also wonder how many know what a Farmall is?

Nice photos. I always thought it would be fun to have a 28mm XA, but I have too many cameras now. Still, I do "see" wide more than normal or tele.
