I just wanted give a shout out to the G'man for helping me get my GIII QL17 up and running 95%. I still have to get the frame counter working but thats a task for another day when my patience is back :bang: 😀

I also want to say thanks to tomtodeath for sending me the camera so fast. It was exactly as described and now works great!

I have a roll of T-max in it right now (400 pushed to 800) so before the end of the weekend I should have some photos online (provided the paper loans me the neg scanner).

I actually did see this and knew this was the problem before I read your thread (congrats on fixing it by the way *Bows to you*) I speculate that my spring is too loose because it was properly installed but still wouldn’t work. I am just gonna keep track of the photo number that I am on until I can find another GIII for cheap (parts/repair). The one I got is a real gem, no fungus, normal to minimal wear and at a steal of a price. I have already shot a few photos and am loving the auto exposure mode... pretty niffty and easy to use.

BTW the whole way the range finder works... AMAZING why wasn't I a photographer back in the day? (Besides the obvious reason of not being alive 😀 😀 😀 LOL)

I don't know if you read my GIII QL17 Sticky Frame Counter thread in this forum. It is here

Hope it helps you.

Sounds like you opened up the top of your camera already? That spring has to be properly installed on both ends, not just the visible end in my photos. And with the cover off, you can screw the film advance lever back on and test it out prior to closing up the camera again.

I am actually using my GIII for the first time as well this week. I am getting more comfortable with it. It starting to feel better in my hands now that I am doing some actually shooting with it. Hopefully by the end of next weekend I will have finished up my roll and will share.

Swee that would be awesome. We can "compair notes" 😀 so to speak. So far so good, I like that I can slip it into my pocket, I have been taking it to class. I dont have access to a scanner but I might be able to get my hands on one at the end of the week. I will definatly try to have my film developed by then.
