that annoying little thumb thing

Ugh, that illustrates the "SLR hold" ignoring the handy tab! (And Summilux & Tele-Elmarit hold too) Yeah, here's another tab fan. For years my one and only tabbed lens was the 1st-version 35 Summicron, so that's my "ideal". Clearly, I also like the big blocky tab on the CV 50mm Skopar, though it's without the infinity lock. I use my left forefinger on the tab, with other fingers curled under the baseplate, and thumb at the left end of the body.

I hold my Bessa... ummm... gawd I have to think about that...

Okay, I just had a quick play with it. My left middle finger curls under the camera and supports the body. Left index finger focuses with the tab. Left thumb is vertical up the side of the camera.

And on the other hand, thumb goes between the wind lever and body, and the rest is normal. Anyone else here like to keep the film wind lever out, with their thumb stuck behind it?

I really like the focusing tab 😀
