That CV 28mm f1.9 looks mighy nice

I can thoroughly recommend the 28mm Ultron, absolutely superb lens. Probably the lens I have used most since I bought it in 2001
See attached pictures, there is a jet trail at the top centre of the frame, I have attached an enlargement of this. the 72ppi does not do it justice!!
Taken in Prague last year Ekta 100 1/500 @ f4
I got mine as a replacement for a faulty Ricoh 28mm lens, the one from the GR1 compact they issued in L39 mount. Mine had a balsam fracture in it and no replacment other than the Ultron was available, turned out to be lucky as it is, I repeat superb.

Impressive indeed, John.

Does anyone know if the black paint flakes off just like the 50 Nokton and 90 Lanthar? It would look pretty massive in chrome.

I think the paint on my 28 is the same as all the painted ones, save the first pancake, which wasn't paint but anodization.. I just treat it really carefully and it's been ok.
I wonder if that stuff is enamel or laquer?

I've been borrowing one from a friend for a while, it's a great lens, and an excellent buy. My Voigtlander lenses are all flaking paint like mad, but the glass is superb.

I have only two black CV lenses, the original pancake which as pointed out is anodised, and the 90mm Apo Lanthar, the rest are chrome finish. However the black 90 which I also have had since 2001 is unmarked despite considerable use. However I keep my lenses, when not in use, in soft cloth drawstring pouches in my bag, they therefore don't get knocked against each other.
I have watched some photographers, and if they treated their cars the way they treat their photo equipment, they would be respraying them every year!🙄

I like it, don't mind the size, great value!

it'll flare a little if you throw the sun at it:

The 28mm Ultron was set at hyperfocal for f/8 for this shot. I almost always zone/scale focus with the Ultron except in dim light.

Mine arrives today, a black one, Can`t wait 🙂 .. My CV35 F2.5 PC1 is black and there is no paint missing so there`s hope yet . My 90 is silver and to be honest, I think this lens looks better than the black version for some reason, same for the 15mm F4.5 Heliar.

The silver version looks big, so it is not as good for discreet street shooting. Here's mine (with the hood) on an M2 with the CV 28mm finder.

I would be interested in your use of the CV 28mm w your RD-1.😉

I have the 28mm Ultron. It's a great lens. It would be nice if it were smaller, however.

Richard
As Scotty in Star Trek used to say, "ye canna disobey the laws o physics Captain" Smaller = slower, if it was for an SLR a 28mm f1.9 would be an awful lot bigger!! There is always CV's other 28mm!🙄
