I'm currently watching on eBay auctions for an XA and a Rollei XF35 (I know it's not meant to be up to much, but I do quite fancy one).

At the last glass purchase the deal with my wife was 'no more camera gear for a very long time'.

Plus I'm saving for 'my' Leica (I'd love a new MP, but I may crack early and buy an M6, or even crack very early and buy an M2). Which would obviously meet the 'very long time' stipulation 😀

I'm not going to talk you down, sorry! The XF35 is auto-exposure only, and a bit leightweight compared with some, but I think the lens is among the best of the type, and unlike the "real" Rollei 35s it has a rangefinder.

I have the Voigtlander branded version, where the lens is called a Colour Skoparex or something instead of a Sonnar. Possibly even cheaper, if you are trying to please your other half...

I thought I rid myself of the Leica Bug about 2 years ago - but obviously my recent forray into the world of Bessa has rekindled that illness - it's like herpes - it just keeps coming back !!!

I wonder how long it would take to save for an MP up here in Canada.... *considers remortgaging property*

Great post Mango LOL! I am actually looking at a "piece of brass" that I think may have my name on it right now. However a number of these brass pieces have slipped by the last week or two because inexplicably they are (apparently) wanted by other people more than me, or at least they have these other people's names on them and I was somehow mistaken that it was my name on the brass.

All very frustrating, but some day the one with my name truly on it will come up. 🙂

never gonna happen for me but then, i've discovered the secret to photo happiness.
