What I saw....
What I saw....
I was driving through town, near our local riverside park, when I saw a fellow walking along with a tripod over his shoulder and a Graflex mounted atop it on a threeway head (all sorts of levers and adjustments hanging out). I thought, "Good for you man!!".
It's not unusual to find me out (even on the streets), packing a Mamiya Press Universal or a big Fuji G690, with a Gossen Digital hand held meter in my shirt pocket.
If they can't take a joke, EFF 'Em.
As my therapist taught me, "It's all about me, and it's about time!".

Yep!!!
Yep!!!
Ya gotta respect a therapist that gets right to the heart of the matter and makes you so happy to pay the $140 for that last session.

I get a lot of comments (either directed to me or to someone else, thinking I can't hear it) about how expensive my camera is, sometimes with an 'admiring' undertone, sometimes in the "oh you disgusting snob" sense.
I usually tell these people that a 500€ camera and a 500€ lens is the price (1000€ is about what my M4 and Nokton 1.2/35 cost me together, and that is a big evil bulk of money for me), or even only 2/3 of what they paid for their random boring DSLR body without lens.
I'm shooting with whatever I like and whatever gets me the photographs I like.
if anyone does not approve or thinks he/she can jump to a conclusion about my personality because of my camera, well so it be. I certainly can jump to conclusions about them too

All my friends in the digital world thought I went crazy when I bought an M6 (full disclosure: I haven't given up digital completely). They really thought I went off the deep end when I started developing my own film about a month ago. BUT... and here's the but, at least one is now considering buying a film camera and has started reminiscing about the good old days. I wouldn't be surprised if some of my other friends start thinking about it this year too.
People like to piss on things they either don't understand or haven't tried. Don't let it get you down.
