It is only a few miles from me but no, I am not going to take a look. I don't buy Leica cameras anymore and in the days that I did I only bought black converted ones.

That is a pretty lens...not quite as pretty as mine, but close🙄. That company does great work, I have a 1951 J-3 and a 1953 J-8 that they have serviced, just beautiful lenses.

So, that TTH lens has been carefully buffed to make it shiny without smearing the lettering, a good job. I wonder if they treat lens barrel to reduce oxidation of the aluminum? I know that brass can be lacquered, but don't know about aluminum

You are the devil. I came within an ace of buying that lens. They are marvelous lenses.

I am very happy with mine. I took photos of an old friend at dinner. One with the Amotal, the other with the Zeiss/Sony 55mm f/1.8. The difference in skin tones is obvious. My lady friend's skin looks like a baby's with the Amotal. And there is a glow and radiance about her with the Amotal. The Zeiss/Sony is not as kind. Both Sony A7M III, SOOC, reduced in size with GIMP for posting. To wit:

Here's a pic near Woerden. There is a killer chocolate store in Woerden. You want to know how to piss off a Hollander? Ask if he speaks English. You guys are a remarkable lot, and bragging just is not done. I was seated in front of "The Night Watch" and asked the fellow next to me if he wasn't awfully proud to be in the presence of so famed and wonderful Dutch painter. "Well, sort of." The fellow who put me up for more than a month initially offered to guide me to a good B&B. But we hit it off so well he offered me to stay. He is a polymath and a very good photographer, Dutch university trained, videographer and recording engineer and a truly good sort. How many people would take in a stranger for more than a month? An extremely gracious man.

The lens I purchased is highly polished also. And the glass is good. Top tier seller. The one in GB is a good deal. I am glad I am happy with one. It does have some "magic" to it and Sonnar Brian is right that the Canon 50mm LTM f/1.8 is a close competitor, perhaps the closest and at a bargain price. Maybe I will compare the two.

Not mentioned but the 12 blade iris has rounded tips....not sure how this affects Bokeh but it IS different.

A very nice lens, but it will not fit a Leica. It must be adapted for that.

It threads right on to a Perfex, same 38mm thread. But, it would need the 11/32” extension tube, and Perfex accessories are very rare.

Original cap from my TTH Cooke Amotal 2 inch f2. Using my Mitutoyo calipers, the inner diameter is right at 37mm, recognizing that the calipers are likely compressing the felt on the inside of the cap a bit.

Thanks a lot. 37mm = 1.456nnnnn inches which I would guess THC measures as an inch and a half.

Added later: found a 37mm ID Bell & Howell lens cap which is as close as I can get at this time. Thanks again. ;o)

The B&H lens cap fits, firmly. Being polyethylene it has expanded a bit to fit pretty well. I do not want to risk any damage to this lens. I need make just one error to ruin it so I am taking steps to prevent that. I have a lens hood coming from the famous kevininhongkong (https://www.ebay.com/itm/265059482941) and am living in the naive hope it will arrive. The lens is impeccable. A real find. I love it. I consider it the perfect companion of the M9, followed by my sweet '57 J8, then the Canon 50 mm f/1.8. The Amotal is a find. I have a '52 J8 on its way back from a CLA I want to test alongside the '57. I have now all the LTM's I need. Actually more than I need. Oh, well.
