Does anyone have both the 12mm and 15mm CV lenses? if so, which one do you use more often?
I have the 15mm and use it often but I wonder if I would benefit significantly by going even a little wider.
Eric

i had both at one point and gave up on the 12 in the end. A few things about it really bothered me, namely that it flared like a bitch, was hard to use handheld without distortion, and the contrast within such a wide frame being greater than the DR of my film! That aside, it was a special toy!

you have a singular talent there, getting it to flare is almost impossible without a filter

I both 12 & 15 almost from day of introduction. I find my useage almost equal between the two, but not as much as I would have thought total useage would be.

24 mm is my real most useful limit.

I have the 15 and is very happy with that except for the cyan vignetting on my M8. I plan on getting the 12 sometime, but there is no hurry. I have heard that it actually is better with the M8 than the 15...

But on film it seems to really be in a category of its own!

yeah, no idea how i pulled that off either. For me, when it worked ,it worked brilliantly, but when i was using it indoors, i found that bare lightbulbs created all sorts of havoc. The sigma 12-24mm on the other hand worked much better for me...

Oh, I see, indoors that explains it, this sort of thing?

Well, I'd say that it is possible to get the 12mm to flare w/o a filter. I'm not sure about how much talent it takes... Anyway, those are extreme situations and don't see how a lens wouldn't flare. I like it nonetheless.

Wow.. I’ve not had that with mine (without a filter on that is) and I often have the sun in frame, it’s difficult not to with such a wide FOV, it has behaved impeccably so far

I own the 12mm and wondering the same about the 15mm. Perhaps we should trade for lenses for week. I use my 12mm a lot for architectural interiors for my projects both under construction and completed.

well if I compare pictures posted here with my own, than the 12mm has much more distortion. But it seems more sharp.
