Indeed. It can be an instructional thing to do with any lens. However, the poster asked about the 50, so I responded about that
Also, I said 1/3/12 months. 1 month for some of us isn't actually all that much shooting - a couple days worth of actual picture taking?
Also, I don't think you have to live with it until you are sick of it, but live with it until you learn something about it. And that thing might be that you hate the focal lengthIt could also be that you tended to ignore certain kinds of shots because you didn't quite grok the focal length yet, and now that you've forced yourself to use the lens for a bit, you see new things.
Dear Tim,
Sorry: didn't mean to appear combative, and point fully taken about shooting days vs. overall time. That's easy for me to forget: yesterday I shot about 60 pics with the M9, starting out with a 50 (Sonnar) then switching to a 75 (Summicron) because it worked better on the day. The week before I was shooting mostly 65mm on the Visoflex: another 50+ pics in all. That's not counting packshots.
Cheers,
R.

Yes, unfortunately I was stuck inside all yesterday not taken photos. Just like today. And tomorrow and the rest of the week. haha. work.

My M5s need red dots!
I used to dismiss the 50mm focal length as too narrow... until I got my M3. That camera helped me enjoy the FOV. However, if I have a choice, I still will reach for my 35mm Hexanon or Summilux.
Right now, I decided to play with my fast Canon for some time. So far, I like the results... even if it forces me to walk
in order to get the composition I want.
