The Best None Leica

The *best* implies only one camera, in that case:

OM-1 for simplicity, reliability, viewfinder, size, and construction.

Depends on the usage.
When weight doesn't matter: Hasselblad CW 503
The F4 is a great but heavy SLR, so I prefer the Minolta XD 7/11
But from the few RF's I have used it is the ZI

Yashica FX3 super 2000
A very underrated cheap and simple mechanical slr workhorse. And its size is smaller than my yashica electro 35 GSN (which is my rf favourite).

Rollei 35S
Canon P
Nikon F3HP
Rollei Baby 4x4
Olympus OM1
Crown Graphic 4x5
Canon F1n
Contax IIa

These are the ones that I use that I think are good cameras, not made by Leica.

Canon FD

Canon FD

I would have to vote for the Canon T-90 for automation and meters. For when weight didn`t matter, Canon F-1, the take anywhere do anything with camera, with FD L glass of course.

Ok we have had whats the best Leica ever made, so the question is whats the best camera Leica never made. not confined to rangefinders.
For me Its the Nikon F4.

If you mean the camera they should have tried to develope when SRL were mainstream then it has to be the OM-4 Ti... People who like rangefinder Leicas like small size and probably do not need autofocus but I am sure they would love to have a small SLR with a precise multispot meter system and a motor which works (not that Leica motors never do but I would not count on them for anything important).

If you meant the one they really did not make, unfortunately for them, then it is the Nikon F.
