is no longer being delivered to Freestyle from Kodak. The bricks I purchased today have an 04/2014 expiration date, and they have 100,000+ rolls of 36exp and 24exp at their warehouse. But what they have now is all they expect to be getting from Kodak. It was expected and there is quite a bit for the next year or so to go around, but still disappointing.

Too bad. Makes sense for Kodak though - the cat was pretty well out of the bag on that one. Thanks for sharing this information - might as well get one more order in. Honestly, I was more disappointed when AP 100 disappeared...

I anticipate that if Freestyle can convince another maker to rebrand their film, they will call it something besides "premium" to avoid confusion.

But really, that kinda stinks, but if they gotta do what they gotta do to sell more..

It was a matter of time before that happened but I'm glad they still have a nice supply we can all enjoy for the time being. Such a good value!

The person I was speaking to was expecting Foma to be next...

I expect Tri-X (in some form or another) to be around for the long haul...and whomever buys the patents and factories to hopefully keep Portra in production too

The 100,000+ rolls and couple thousand bulk rolls they have will be quite enough for me too

hmmm, interesting. just chattted with a csr to find out what's up. no idea who will make the next batch if at all. will fuji step in again ?

At no fault of Freestyle though. That never say what their Arista products are rebrandings of anymore...I was told that several years ago they used to rebrand Illford and would tell customers as much, to which Illford was obviously not very happy, so I guess their policies have changed.

Different people I've spoken to expect Foma, but Fuji would be nice

but their mention of being made in the US and the dev times that matched Tri X kinda gave that away ;)

Haha. Yea, and the fact that some bulk rolls actually have Tri-X stamped on the sprocket edges. their rebranded developers and papers are also easy to find the counterparts.

They made no mention of anyone stepping in for the time being but wouldn't be surprised if Premium returned with another supplier. Personally, I'm not feeling Foma as a supplier of Premium. I'd much rather see Fuji.

My feeling using them has been -- and people who know the chemistry can step in and tell me better -- that HP5 is much closer to Tri-x than Neopan 400 is.

I don't think I'll try to fight it. I already have a freezer full of Efke 25 in various formats. I don't have the freezer room to start stockpiling another film. I think that once I run low on Arista Premium I'll just start using HP5.

I'll continue to buy Portra 400 from Kodak as I always have until that goes away, if it does. Kind of the same thing I do with Fuji and Velvia right now.
