I will hopefully join the dark side soon ehehehehe 😀

After selling my SLR kit (Canon A-1 + several FD lenses) I got some money and started thinking of getting a Leica. I wanna know what is all this fuzz about eheh 🙂

Never handled one ever, but after reading a lot, and thinking that my investment (if I dont like it) wont be lost (I can resell it at same price i guess), I started scouting the usual places 🙂

So hopefully i will receive one user Leica M2 + Summaron 1:3,5/35 mm this week or the next one! 🙂

I was expecting to buy only the body, and use my soviet glass with it (glass that I can only say good things about), but I saw this kit and decided on buying it, the extra money i had to spend on the Summaron I might get back if I sell it to get my economies back in track 🙂 (if I can part with it after seeing it)

Oh well, now I can hardly wait to receive it, and post some photos of it here....

Had to share my emotions with all you comrades ehehe

The M-bodies are classics, and beloved by many of the people and cats here, but for me, the fuss is all about the lenses. They make delicious pictures.

I went Leica less than a year ago, and I do NOT regret it.

The camera is a beauty (a real user camera, but I like it with scratches ehehe)!


All seems to function alright, I had to align the rangefinder but now seems to work perfectly 🙂 Shutter also seems ok, even on slow speeds. On slow speeds I after the shutter closes I still hear some mechanical sound (something like the sound the timer does), is this normal?

Unfortunately the Summaron has several pieces of dust inside the lens (but no haze).. wonder if they will show up or render the lens less sharp... (Is there a Summaron DIY CLA web page? If so please give me the adress 🙂)

Congrats, Sergio! The mechanical noise you hear after firing the shutter at speeds around 1/15sec (kinda sounds like a steel ball bearing bouncing) is normal and an indication of a healthy shutter timer mechanism. (This is what I have read.)
