Youxin Ye received my M3/DR 'cron on Friday last 4/23, did the CLA on both and replaced the sync connection and rewired it. I received the camera back here in California today Wednesday 4/28, and the camera is buttery smooth and quiet. Looks and feels great. I shot a roll to check it out, and it's in the dryer now. If there are any glitches, I'll be VERY surprised. This is my first time with Youxin, and I'm amazed at how quickly he returned the camera to me, and at how well he kept in touch with me throughout.

I have read that she really doesn't do email and that you need to call her. Have you tried the phone?

I took my newly purchased M3 and Summicron for CLA and to fix a stuck shutter to Essex in NJ on Tuesday. I asked them if they can expedite. Mr.Moon just called me to tell me they're done and that they'll be shipping it out this afternoon (Thursday). $250 for both camera and lens. From what I've read on here, they do a good job - I'll report on my findings once I receive it (hopefully tomorrow afternoon).
Question: is it really usually this fast? And is $250 reasonable for the work?

Another recommendation for Sherry Krauter here. I needed my M5's rangefinder adjusted, so I emailed her for an estimate. I also mentioned that my meter seemed to be about one stop off, but said that it wasn't a big deal, mostly wanted the rangefinder calibrated. She quoted $125 for the adjustment, I sent it off.
Got the camera back today (faster than 3 weeks she had quoted), and...wow. She went way above and beyond what I had expected. Adjusted the rangefinder, re-calibrated my meter to 1.35v, installed new battery, adjusted the speeds, and straightened out my dented strap lug. I'm very impressed.

I have sent cameras to both Sheri Krauter and DAG - DAG was more responsive and pleasant, but both did superb work. The last time I sent something to DAG was two weeks before I was to take an unexpected trip to Bavaria for a quick negotiation. I asked DAG if he could overhaul my weary IIIf in time - he did it with a day to spare, normal cost. A terrific guy.

In France, I have been using Photo Suffren, in Paris, both for lenses and Leica III services. Each time, it took about a month to get the job done.

Awesome work, soft as butter levers, clean viewfinder, and they beaten out a dent and put the dial sticker.
I'm very happy with they work.

For those near Burlington, Vermont, LeZot Photo is great:
LeZot Photo

They repaired a water-damaged Leica M3 (from another seller), gave me great advice on darkroom equipment, and the staff in general seemed knowledgable and helpful. (I'm no pro, so maybe I just got taken, but it's one data point.)
The shop is one of those funky, second-floor places, jammed with all sorts of vintage used cameras... including a broken Nikon SLR they had painted (dipped, actually) in bright, neon green that LeZot was selling for $35,000 as a "rare, limited edition" (in theory, I assume, that if you would fork over $35k for that camera, you deserved to be parted from your money).

I just got my M6 TTL and dual range summicron back from DAG and the lens looks clearer than my eye!
I highly recommend DAG. Don fixed my framelines, which were inoperable, tuned her up and now I can feel how much "slicker" everything moves. Best of all the turnaround time was fast.
Money well spent,

Will van Manen in Holland has Cathy Kuiper. I believe she is quite a bit younger than him, and that she will be taking over when he doesn´t feel like going to work every day anymore.Quick question/observation.
These guys who are doing Leica servicing must be fast advancing in years. Are there new upcoming ones? Does Leica have some sort of educational programme that allows new people to apprentice on how to fix their cameras?
