The option to print on silver halide paper from a digital file is offered in the US e.g. from

I haven't used their service personally as they only offered matte surfaces so far... snip ...

I have been to their location in Belmont MA. They usually have a nice gallery display of prints that look very, very good. I think this will be a good source for high quality B&W prints from digital files.

They offer different paper options including Ilford Galerie FB fiber base with glossy fiber surface, "less gloss than gloss inkjet or RA4," and Ilford Galerie RC on resin coated paper, pearl surface "similar to lustre surface."

I'm in the process of getting some 20x30's printed on fiber. I saw their booth at PhotoPlusExpo. The IQ is very high. They had two prints that were shot with a MM, 20x30, that were impressive.

One image from my Monochrom I will eventually get printed 36x54 0n 40x60 paper. At the PhotoPlusExpo I was offered a free 8x10 and as an example I was sent a zoomed in crop from a 40x60 inch print made from a file I sent them. Its crazy, but not so hard to do a Salgado if you got the right image shot at a very high shutter speed.
