I'm rather curious about this camera. Was it in fact an interchangeable-lens LTM? Is it a decent user?
I tried doing a search but I kept coming up with people bringing their film to the drugstore.

I think Fedka's website has something about this. Joe

Yeah, it does, just found it. Interesting. I always thought it was fixed-lens. It reminds me a little of a Canon RF, or the nifty prototype Zorki 35M:

I bitterly regret parting with mine about 5 years ago, KMZ's attempt at a semi professional RF. Excellent v/f and r/f with frames for 50 and 85 mm lenses.
Unusually has a proper leica roller type cam follower. and Leicavit style trigger wind. Very nice leather case with cut out for trigger.
Sadly most of those on sale are very worn and sad looking now, mine was near mint and bought in Prague. Silly bugger selling it:bang:

The FSU Drug camera I know had trigger wind and was only made for a couple of years in the early 1960s

Yes, that pic is of a prototype Zorki I've always liked the looks of, and which the Drug resembles somewhat.

You might want to take a look at http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/search.php?param=drug.
There is a picture of it, some price info plus a number of eBay listings, in case you it gives you GAS
BTW i also found a Drug 2 on collectiblend, didn't know about that one.

Well, me neither. Unfortunately collectiblend only shows prices from auctions past and an occasional photo, not technical info. And as you said, Google isn't very helpful either when you look for something like 'drug'.

I owned a Drug, and if you can find one that works, they're pretty nice cameras. One thing to keep an eye out for is whether the advance mechanism-- the trigger wind-- is in good repair. The teeth on the cogs can get worn down and the chain can slip, which leads to overlapping frames. Mine had this problem, so I sent it to Fedka. While they were unable to repair it, they suggested I locate a second Drug with a reliable advance mechanism and they would be able to replace my worn out advance with the donor camera's.
The cool advance, roller cam, and VF/RF are great, and it's very simple to adjust the RF alignment if needed...which was pretty regularly. Ultimately, I decided that the cost of repairs (another body plus repair fees) wasn't worth it, and eBayed it.

Mine was working somewhat when I got it but the gears were worn, frames screwed up , and eventually the winding mechanisms got stuck.
Fedka fixed it for me and advised me that it never would be the smooth operating camera as it once was.
It was a favorite FSU of mine in all other ways but I`d not buy another one unless I could see it and get my hands directly on it to try.

Excellent thread and photos, thanks! I didn't actually mean that I was looking to buy one, but you've got me thinking...
