I like this.
Is the sensitive emulsion deposited on paper? The look of the scan more than hints at it being so. If it is paper I’m wondering how it would tolerate the forces in 35mm format.

my, you're up early, Helen. no, wait: you're an hour ahead of me. enchanting, indeed ...
The base is washi rice paper. They make it in 35mm too, I imagine you have to be careful loading and winding it although it seems pretty tough when dry.
This is a transmission scan (capturing light shining through the negative) so it highlights the rice paper structure. A reflective scan (in a flat bed scanner) highlights the paper surface texture ... completely different look and feel to the images!

I shot and love this photo, though intensely Sad a Life it portrays
many have cursed me here for putting it up , shooting it
but to Me Photographs can capture the essence of Life
and Life has so many tales to tell...
All is not pretty, all is not safe
Be it in choices we make or forces beyond our control
this shot was used in a poster, group of photos raising funds for the homeless
on the Way Home...another Sad and Fallen by Helen Hill, on Flickr
your photo Allen
reminds me of mine... we think alike sometimes

I'm constantly amazed by what some find "offensive". There is nothing to identify this individual.
Bravo for re-posting.
