Working on the mail feature. Once everything is ironed out I should be able to implement that soon. besides that. everything else is in place.

You'll get my payment once the paychecks from my new job start rolling in. I'm having to shell out $2G's for a new heat pump compressor today, it might be awhile. 🙁

Jorge,

At some point - could you start a separate account to which some of us who would like to do so can contribute? It would be an "anonymous subsidy fund"?

This fund will be available to ensure that those members who are on "limited means" can become "Premium Members" by private request to you.

All, of this of course, arranged privately between you and the member.

I won't use the premium services, and don't want to pay $25 for them.
But I would like to help support the forum.
$10 per year seems about right.

How about a free trial,
then a $10.00 annual fee for basic membership?
That's pretty darn affordable.
A bargain, if you ask me.

Bet you'll get far more subscribers at $10 than at $25...

"Excelsior, you fathead!"

Hey Copake, how do I get one of those "Premium RFF Gallery Member" designations? I signed up yesterday but no special yellow line for me yet. I need some way to feel superior to all you guys who have much more knowledge and talent than I'll ever have!

Regards,

Charlie

Oh heck, I added the Yellow Line myself because I like to sell bridges under my user name (or other such saying - as the case may be).

The RFF Premium thing is a "default" listing under your user name. If you put in something else it changes to that!

Oh, BTW, I have a very nice bridge for sale. It spans the lower East River between the Boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City.

Actually, to be fair, I cannot sell you an equity ownership position regarding the Bridge. However, you will receive an official license which entitles you to collect all existing tolls for use of this Bridge.

Please reply via a PM if interested! 😀

Your reply will be kept strictly unconfidential!

I feel the same . . . . maybe a little lighter.

Buy my two RF cameras in the classifieds. They are hot.

I'll never upload 20 images in a day, though. I'm way too choosy about the quality of my uploads to be able to produce 20 brilliant pics a day.

Are these animated gifs supposed to show that we've paid for a premium membership?

Oops. I forgot to mention that your private message inbox increases from 20 messages to 100 when you upgrade.

What I do not understand is how many folks here do not seem to appreciate what they have and that Jorge is one of the good guys!

Consider this thread:

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21982&page=1&pp=20

Here we have a "regular member" (i.e. one who has not felt a "need" to contribute) who has used this site to discuss his angst over a desire to purchase a M7 in order to shoot pictures of his grandkids!

He has used this site to obtain advice and encouragement to purchase just about the most expensive RF there is!

Now I do not question anyone's personal net worth - but imagine that anyone who can afford such a piece of gear can afford to throw $25 into the collection plate!

How is Jorge supposed to feel about this kind of thing. Here he is, sponsoring a site which has no basic membership fee so he can get 'dissed if he sets up an incentive mechanism to "reward" those here who are willing to pay a few bucks into the kitty.

Meanwhile, the "free riders" get to prattle on an on about whether to purchase expensive gear w/o chipping in a dime!

Wow!

I'm signing up to this just because I think the site is worth it anyway, regardless of the extra perks.

Ditto, some days ago, but I've not got my Leica yet! As a person of a painfully retiring nature, I obviously I don't want one, but it would be nice to have something to complain about! 😀

Cheers, Ian
