I’ve not had much of a chance to use my new 23 f2 until last weekend. My wife and I take Sunday afternoon drives through the country around our home and occasionally we find a road we’d not run across before.
It was a rainy full day but feel the images were still good.
X-T3/23mm f2 raw files processed through Iridient X and Lightroom 6.14 and custom camera color profile.

35/2 is just like all the other fujinons. Except it focuses superfast

This is the lens that sold me on the Fuji system. I went into it during the Covid lockdown in Australia, in my usual heavy-handed way. Initially with a Fuji XT1, then a second body, both sold for a Fuji XT2, now sold.
So why sold? Because the mid-tones and exposures on my three XTs were all over the place, the metering sucked, and I found the colors shifted whenever I took bush landscapes. One image would be so-so with blues off, the second with reds off, the third more or less okay. None of the three actually appealed. So I dumped them all. And, sadly, not at all missed.
Then an XE2 came along, somewhat battered around the edges from a year in a backpack during the owner's Asia travels. The price was right. I bonded immediately with this camera, and this motivated me to go into lenses.
Initially an 18/2.0 which I use and like. An 18-55 zoom. A 23/1.4 at a good price, but it has the 'wobbles' and results are inconsistent. A second 18-55 gifted to me, so I took it. A 14/2.8 I found by chance with a reputable dealer, made an offer on it and got it, but now I find I almost never use it. And finally, the 35/2.0, the iconic 'Fujicron' so beloved of traditionalist photographers.
The 35 renders all its subjects beautifully. I now keep my XE2 set mostly on monochrome with this lens on board. It lives in a cloth bag in my backpack and I use it often. I find the film simulations amusing, but of the dozen or no Fuji fanatics I know, I have to say almost none of them use these. Most shoot almost entirely with classic chrome or Velvia. The B&Ws are pleasant, but nothing like film with filters as we did in the good old days. Not that I expect that anyway, I'm comparing apples (20th century photography with film) to oranges (Century 21 digital)...
In all honesty I have to say my Nikon D800s give me much better results overall, but at a price. Weight, for one. They are like small cement blocks, especially with a battery grip attached. But then they are FF, which makes a great obvious difference to the end results I get.
But the XE2 with the 35/2.0 holds its own for almost all the casual photography I do.
It seems old dogs can learn new tricks...
