The Fuji X-A1

How does everyone feel about this camera? Seems pretty great...the cheapest x-body, same features as the X-M1, but lacks the x-trans sensor (which for me is a plus).

Any personal experiences with one?

I actually considered it for the same reason Patrick - no X-Trans 🙂

I have no personal experience with it but I can't see how "bad" it could be when you consider the fact that it's relatively inexpensive and you get to use the fuji glass on it. Sounds like a win/win to me. I believe a buddy of mine, Peter Cameron (also on RFF) has one and loves his.

I could totally see that - but the option for having interchangeable lenses is more appealing to me - maybe not to all mind you, and I get that. 🙂

I never looked into this camera. But I have learned to use this type quite well after shooting the dp Merrill series... The biggest single issue is how well the LCD behaves in bright sunlight and if it has a hot shoe that u can use for a bright-line optical viewfinder if the LCD can be washed out by the bright sunlight.

The dp Merrill's have their focus confirmation led in a position where it can be seen from the corner of your eye while using an external ovf..

I think cameras like the xa1 and xm1 while designed as entry level cameras are quite good.. They are basically a xe1 w/o the evf, but they have the articulated LCD that right now only the xt1 has. For those coming from the p&s world, it makes an easy transition.

Dave, you can't have your X100 back. There's something about that camera that I seem to like. :>)
