I have always felt that fast af only one aspect. A good predictive function makes a difference. Yes there are manual focus techniques that can be used such as letting something come into a predetermined focus point.. But when u are shooting in situations that are fluid, predictive af really comes in handy.
If the subject is holding still as shown on the video then my eos M is fast enough- plus I touch the screen and don't have to reframe.
I'd like to see a demo of the continuous/tracking autofocus
I believe the XT-1 has a faster microprocessor than the XE-2.
This doesn't mean there won't be additional firmware improvements for the XE-2. But the speed, compared to the XT-1 could be limited by the processor. We have no idea how much faster the XT-1 might be using the early XF lenses with first generation AF motors.
