the issue for me is usually lowlight. the x100s is ok, but certainly not where i'd like it to be.
I agree. They are getting better but not cutting edge.

Oh please, we *really* need AF for family photos...

I have always felt that fast af only one aspect. A good predictive function makes a difference. Yes there are manual focus techniques that can be used such as letting something come into a predetermined focus point.. But when u are shooting in situations that are fluid, predictive af really comes in handy.

Even if we all own the same cameras, we all use them differently. It doesn't make us lesser if we want faster AF.

Makes me wonder if a firmware upgrade for the X-E2 is in the works to improve it's focus speed.

If the subject is holding still as shown on the video then my eos M is fast enough- plus I touch the screen and don't have to reframe.
I'd like to see a demo of the continuous/tracking autofocus

I believe the XT-1 has a faster microprocessor than the XE-2.
This doesn't mean there won't be additional firmware improvements for the XE-2. But the speed, compared to the XT-1 could be limited by the processor. We have no idea how much faster the XT-1 might be using the early XF lenses with first generation AF motors.
