It is what it is...there's only so much you can do with this scene...I like them as an historical purpose, it's a place one could return to many times to record the decay of what once might have been a popular place...it's also sad that for whatever reason it is in this condition...
I don't get many chances to photography scenes like this because out where we live there aren't places like this left...

Time of day wasn't the best. And I realized I had the WB set wrong about halfway through the shoot. Still learning how to operate the camera (Nikon P7700).

What do you think of the P7700?

I recently bought a second hand copy of the older P7000 and am quite impressed with it, especially its sharpness. Although it has some quirks as do all cameras all of this is forgiven when I see how good the images are (in daylight settings at least). Of course its a small sensor camera and that imposes limits. But I expected that.

The P7700 is a good looking camera but I am not sure I appreciate the lack of finder (all earlier models have a finder although like the Canon G series they only deliver perhaps 80% of the image). I had once owned a Canon G 11 and my impression looking back on that was it was a little better functionally than my Nikon - mainly more sophisticated firmware. But for all of that for the small $ I paid for the camera I am very happy with the P7000. So I would be interested in your perspectives about the newer one.

One other thing. When I bought it, the camera came with a wide angle adapter. Very nice too. Excellent sharpness and rendering. I don't by any means think I would have been willing to pay the quite large dollars demanded for a new one but I cna vouch for how good it is.

I'm liking it so far, Peter. There's quite a bit of button pushing involved, but it's much more capable than my old Panny TZ-3. I did have to give up some zoom range with this model (Nikon is lying about it being a 28-200 equivalent), but the digital extension on the long end works very well. It's got a great viewing screen that I can see in bright daylight, and I like the fact I can mount a real flash to it (though the SB-400 is stretching that definition). The horizon level indicator is a big help, plus the panoramic feature works pretty good, unless the clouds are moving at a decent clip. And I can shoot monochromes!
