I really need to find one of these again.

I owned a Contax mount J-12 back in the spring of 2012 just for a few months. I got it from a fellow RFF member I think and it was a fantastic lens. Used it on an Amedeo adapter (yes I modified the lens) for a whle on my M9 then I got a Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8 and sold the M9 to switch to Nikon RFs. Once I got that f/1.8 Nikkor I didn't use the J-12 so i sold it to a friend of mine who has an S2 for a few bucks.

Now I still have my M4 and a DR Cron but really don't use them at all. It would be nice to get out with a 35mm lens on that camera once in a while.

Now this thread has me wanting to shop for lenses... GAS.

😀 ... the dangerous part about RFF ! I have both J-12, the one in Kiev-mount (slightly modified) and the LTM version. The LTM version seems to perform a little better and after I disassembled, cleaned and lubed the lens it actually works very nice.

I put one roll through my Nikon SP with a J-12 I bought from Russia. Every single image had blurry and totally unusable corner performance even stopped down several stops.

Clearly I have a bad lens. I should try again just to be sure though. I love the Biogon lens "signature" so I realistically should love this lens...

There is some doubt whether it was a 'true' Biogon copy or a Biometar copy. Looking at pictures that show the rear element I think it was a copy of the pre-war Biogon:

Thanks for the links! I apparently have a newer lens, according to that image, as it looks just like the 1991 image.
