Hacker,
Thanks for the excellent test.
The results are not suprising and they support what people here seem to know.

1. There are many excellent lenses
2. Age matters, except for some exceptions (such as CZJ 5cm 1.5 and 2.0)
3. Price matters, except for a few exceptions (such as the J-3 when correctly shimmed)

Here is a study in greens.

I think the 1.8 really has "enough", the 1.2 has some wild swirl, which is becoming popular in some circles.

IMHO, cron DR has the most pleasing bokeh, but my fav bokeh will be 50mm summarit f1.5. It's totally personal, if everyone is using "the best", then there's nothing special.

but i have to say that i still think this bokeh stuff is a bunch of hooey.

i can't agree with most of what is posted here.
afaiac, the canon 1.5 and the hex seem to be my favourite...aside from the lovely elmar.

[subliminal]Bokeh is Good. Bokeh is Beautiful. I like Bokeh. Little Swirly Things that make pretty Lights. Pretty Little Shiny Things. Pretty Little Shiny Things are Beautiful[/subliminal]

Joe has a valid point.

You know, and I may get some flack for this, but I think the Nokton ltm 50mm f/1.5 has great bokeh--and if I manage to focus correctly, the center is tack-sharp
