The "Leica Glow effect"

Taken with a Panasonic G1 with this nikon lens, does this qualify as the so call "Glow".Critique is most welcome too.

It's certainly nice... who cares if it has the Leica glow? It has a Nikon glow.

I think the so called Leica glow usually refers to flare. I may be wrong, but this seems more like oof. Regardless, it is a visually pleasing photo. Look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Agreed with above post, that is just shallow depth of field.

The image below is a screen shot of an image at full size that glows. It was taken with an old summicron.

Thanks for the comments, the distortions by the way are due to the lens design which give it's signature. More info about this lens below.

To get Leica glow you have to use a Leica lens. To get the Nikon glow you have to use a Nikon lens. Sort of. Just kidding. Sort of. Nice photo. Since flowers by themsselves are beautiful, to me photos of them are usually beautiful for that reason. To surpass the raw beauty of the flower with a photo, the photo has to be very very good and perhaps add something the flower can show you by itself. This is very difficult to do with any camera. Has a lot to do with the photographer. I feel the same way about landscapes. Good ones are easy; great ones almost impossible. And you have to get up at 4 AM.

I thought the "Leica glow" could be attributable to radioactive lanthunum in the glass. 😉

Isn't the 'Leica glow' because the lenses have only one (or none) coating? They were the only company to not buy a license for Pentaxes lens coating system, 20 years later (when the patent had run out) they suddenly start producing multi coated lenses, funny that
