Before you set the goals, you need to find something that really interests you, else it will turn out that working hard to achieve these goals is not for you. But I agree with the rest - you need to adjust the tactics while you keep your eye on the goal.
As to the photo, it reminds me of this one, which I prefer:

We are all not moved or intellectually challenged by the same images.
"intellectually challenged". Yup! That's me.

I feel I've been around just long enough (38 years) and know just enough people (many of my friends are 10 years older than I am which is helpful) to believe that people are either doers or thinkers.
Yes there is some middle ground, some "grey" if you will. But essentially, we are all one or the other and the category you fall into shapes your life considerably. I'm not yet sure if you can change.

I'm not sure it's necessary. The photo could mean a lot of things without knowing where it was taken. If it doesn't mean anything to you, that's okay. We are all not moved or intellectually challenged by the same images.
Hi,
Saying "intellectually challenged" turns me off as it sounds like management speak to me. OTOH, I looked at the picture and wondered what it was and why it was posted.

Most people (of course, no one reading this thread) have no preference for any particular choice in their life, with the possible exception - probably temporarily - of a partner. The choices made are the ones which seem easiest at the time, or which fit most easily with whatever temporary activity the individual is concerned with at that moment.
Driven and determined people are extremely rare. Rare as in 'I have never met one' (except I did, briefly, say hallo to Koudelka once). There may be a few artists and musician individuals one would like to meet, but the only social or political examples tend to be sociopathic extremists of various sorts - and those are the ones who form our world.

Even if they are "determined or driven", what does it MEAN?
"I want to be a photographer"? (What do you want to photograph?)
"Sociopathic extremists" may be an overstatement but I certainly know people whose marriages have succumbed to their passion for photography.
Cheers,
R.
