Hey hey,

A while ago Canon introduced some new primes with IS.
Price was ridiculous and most people ignored them.
Now they are quit affordable. Anyone using these?

I never get wowed by Canon primes, except maybe some L's,
mainly the latest TSE 24, I like the distinctive look.

The new primes are light, focus better than other older USM lenses I suppose. Anyone discovered something interesting about the image quality?
Are they better than the older WA primes? Is there a gem and one to avoid? And so on.

Sigma has that interesting 35mm but it weights as much as the 3 Canon lenses combined. 🙂

So anyone using these?

there's a thread a bit below with some banter on the 35

i tried the 28 and exchanged it for a 35. that being said the 35 is quite large with a 67mm filter thread. i found the 35 seemed a bit sharper and less CA, especially in the bokeh. the 35 is also able to focus down to 1:4 magnification which is quite nice and the manual focus is not bad with lots of travel for the macro zones. bokeh is quite smooth even on liney subjects. focusing is fast and quiet and IS is definitely very appreciated. i'm getting good success at 1/10 even with my shaky hands.
