Yeah reset of settings sucks a bit. On the flip side the frame lines are indeed more accurate, the whole flipping between vf and lcd thing on playback is gone, the operation is a bit smoother, and the manual exposure reflected in manual mode through the EVF is SO nice.

Im also pretty sure the aperture and shutter rings are more responsive - they reflect the settings in the finder quicker. Anyone agree?

Wow, a 2.0 was just released a few days ago, and now 2.1. I'll give it a try.

It's been talked up on other forums already, but I just wanted to say that it is too bad, I think, that the minimum shutter speed on auto ISO has an override function instead of just letting the camera underexpose.
Still, all-in-all, I'm really happy about the FW updates. The user definable file names are very useful.

I have the same opinion regarding the definition of 'minimum'. Though the way it's implemented now is the same way all other manufacturers implement this feature as well. I would love a toggle option for allowing underexposure on auto ISO, but that may be too niche a feature! Either way, kudos to Fuji for releasing this update.

Use the del key first to get rid of the characters u intend to change. It starts from the right and moves left. I cannot figure our how to position the cursor to remove a specific character.
Instead of 4 characters in reality it is 3 if u intend to use a consistent naming convention between srgb and adobe color space.
Since I have a xe1 and xp1, I used dxe1, _xe1, etc.. So I know which camera the shot came from and so I don't forget and accidentally copy similarly named files into the same folder.

Still no colors for FP…. WTF?
They intimated to that feature in the summers FW update.
How hard can it be to code up a few color options for an existing function?
I may be wrong. IMO color other than white for FP would make all the difference in the world when manual focussing! :bang:

Focus peaking improvement next?
Focus peaking improvement next?
All of this is great! More accurate frame lines are a good thing! Now all we need is the kind of focus peaking we see from Sony. Fuji really needs a better implementation on the X Pro-1 than we have now. It was great they offered it but I can hardly see the peaking. Something a little stronger would work better for me.

It does make all the difference when I was using the nex5n. I used yellow as my peaking color. Even though I was shooting for color.. I used monochrome mode.. The yellow stood out pretty well against on monochrome LCD or evf view.
Since the raw file has a small embedded Jpg, your preview may show initially as a b&w, but once u select the image for edit in your sw of choice, it will automatically grab the raw info and u can go to town.
Sony focus peaking for me tended to be too strong and I had several shots in the rush of the moment, when I looked at them later turned out to be not as sharply focus as I thought they should be.. So I tended to turn down my peaking level when I was using the Sony.
W/ the Ricoh gxr covering my rf glass and speedbooster on my Fuji covering my Nikon, I really have not used my Nex much these days, plus omd using my 90f2.8 and 135f4 as well.
But I always hated the menu system on the Sony Nex cameras as well as the location of the dedicated movie button that I always seemed to activate. The RX and new a7 family are much better designs then what I had.
