The best camera is one that still works!
My son who has zero interest in photography asked if he could borrow my D4 for a couple of days. He is a member of a Brisbane RC (remote control) club and they are in the process of having a very expensive upgrade of their race track and wanted to photograph it for their club's records.
I pointed out that the camera was quite complicated and maybe he should download the PDF of the manual before using it. In his usual fashion he ignored my advice and said he would figure it out when he got to the track on the day they were resealing it. He's a smart boy and figure it out he did .... in fact he produced a time lapse video of the entire process by setting the camera up in a particular spot and programming it to take an image every few seconds during the day. He set the end result to music and it runs for about seven minutes.
He never ceases to amaze me! LINK

Smart, aren't they. Got one of those at home myself.
That's a very cool video he did. Funny, I've had my D4 since 2012 and have no idea how to do video with it. Guess I should download the PDF, or maybe have my son teach me.
Best,
-Tim

Wow, that's quite a track. Looks fun. I was shocked to find that I like the D4. I use a Df, so I don't need one, but it is quite the camera and feels nice in the hands.
