After using my RF for so long, I pick up my nikon, and it doesn't feel comfortable to use. I want to use it for the wide lens, the built in metering, but it just doesn't feel right..

Anyone else have this problem?

Not I! The cameras that feel the most right to me are: Leica M; Nikon SLR (FE2/FA/F100); and Nikon DSLR (D200,D300). All these feel like they are an extension of my own hand. My Leica SLR (R5 and R6) don't seem to settle into my hands quite right. But then, their viewfinders are superb!

I guess it's a case of having used something so long that one's hand become almost molded to it. I've used Leica Barnacks since age 13; Leica M since 19; Nikon SLRs from around 30.

My F, F3, and Nikkormats feel jsut fine, thank you very much! 🙂

I'm with Marko. Although my wife's old F3 HP is a fine machine indeed, it is a beast and it feels like it after I've been shooting with an M. I recently picked up on OM-1, however, and have no such complaints, even if the build quality isn't quite up to F3 standards.

Send it to me so I can see if it feels comfortable to me... 😀 😀 😀

I know one thing that does feel good in my hand ...

... my D700! 😀

Which pleasantly surprised me actually ... the ergonomics are very good for a bulky camera and definitely defy it's size.

Which Nikon do you use? The F6 is just perfect. I am glad I didn't dump it for digital. I will instead sell off my R bodies and convert the R lenses to F mount.

Maybe the OP needs to get an OM-1 ... they feel as much like a little RF in the hands as any SLR could surely!

I love the way my D300 feels in the hand.
After trying Canon and Pentax DSLRs, the Nikon just seems to have all the dials and controls in the right places. Always felt my digital Canons were just puzzles in constant need of solving.
