The Nineteen Seventies

I'll throw in a few amateur snapshots from the 70's.

My brother. This was likely taken with a Kodak Instamatic of some sort. Blurry, but I still like it.

This, and the following were shot with a Miranda camera. My first SLR. Early to mid 70's.

I took this during a visit to Washington DC.

Congratulations on the show Lawrence. This thread has reminded me of the recent thread on the importance of photographing friends and family, it also shows how many of our membership have been taking great pictures for many years ( I was born in 73) and looking through them is a pure pleasure ( perhaps in part because it makes me feel as young as I was in the 70s' )

Awesome photos everybody cause these were photos back then :)

The 1970's were the worst of times and the best for me.

It was when I was still in the military.

Out of the military, I met my wife from a blind date arranged from a gent I met while serving.

We will celebrate our 38th anniversary August this year.

Great children who are successful and #4 grandson due later this year.

I'm living the dream!

Bill, Congrats, that a lovely story.

Great images everyone. Lynn, was that KB they were drinking? In a steel can. I remember my dad drinking it along with the old DA in long necks.

I started high school in 1979. It was also the first year that I learned to develop films and print. Therefore my own negs that survive only date back to the early '80s.

But here is a shot of me on the roof with my dad in 1971, the year I started school. I was tied off to the chimney and was helping prepare the old galvanised tin roof for painting. No sun screen back then :)
