i just realized something, about myself, that i seem to have this thing about owning more than one of the same camera.

currently i have the 3 canon p's.

but prior to that i had 2 mamiya 6's with 75 & 150 lenses.

before that i had 2 minolta cle's with 2 complete sets of lenses.

i had 3 olympus cameras, 2 om 2's and the om 1 that started it, with a full compliment of lenses.

anyone else suffer from this affliction?
curious, i will have to discuss this with my therapist...😉

I am not any thing at all like that Joe.

I started with an OM-1, and 2 OM2 which were stolen
Then to Nikon FA (4) and F3HP (2).
Bronica ETR (3)
Pentax Spotmatic (2)
Canon OL17 (4)
Yashica GS, GT, GSN (8 or 20 I can't remember)
Speedex Special "R" (2)
Canon P (2)
Contax IIa and IIIa (one each)
Polaroid SX-70 (4)
Keiv 4AM (2)

Maybe some others.

Two Super Press bodies, with another for parts, lenses, backs, cut film holders. A Fujica 901 then an 801 ( my daughter took that so maybe it doesn't count). A Yashica TL Super, then another for parts, then an FX3 for Contax 139 backup, then three FX 103s. Two Pentax SVs. Several folders, including two Zeiss Icons, Three Weltas, and various Kodaks. Three 4x5, two are Cambos.

What was your question?

Who is your therapist?

2 Leica Ms and 3 Minolta SRTs right now. I am trying to keep it to that. At some point I will want somthing "modern," but that camera hasn't walked up to me and swept me off my feet yet.

Three Canon P's sound right to me. Five would be excessive. If they had small varients between them, like Nikon S2's did, more would be okay.

Zeissfan, great collection

Backalley, you are not alone

2 Rollei 35
2 Canon FTb
2 Contax 1
2 Contax IIa
2 Contax IIIa
2 Canon P

These are only multiples so far, but you know how GAS can strike suddenly.

well, the good news is i don't feel so alone anymore...the bad news is i want to break into mike's place and 'shop' for a contax or 8.

brian, i know 3 should be enough but i 'need' to buy a 4th and then i'll be done.
except for a few more 35mm lenses i have all that i want for glass.

brett, i think you have it right!

wayne, you must feel very isolated, not being anything like the rest of us😉

i want to hear more!

who else has 'muliple personalites'?

At one time I owned 33 Zorki 1s. Through counseling I've managed to get that number down to a dozen (well, maybe 14). There are some things in life a person can't have to many of---(excusse the lousy grammar)

There was a time when I thought owning more than one camera of the same kind was a sign of presumption.

And I had only one of each: Nikon, Minolta, Canonet.

Then I discovered Leicas...

And the lust continues. I have three M bodies (2 M6TTL and 1 M3), but sometimes I dream of a nice M4 and an old version of the Summilux for it.

But then, owning more than one SLR is still vain (while I dream of a nice Nikon F100).

I'm more a "one of each" type than an "a bunch of one" type -- although with Canon gear, one of each would result in about 40 different bodies. I've got a IIf, III, IV-Sb, VT, VI-T, and 7 (maybe if the P had a number I'd have one too -- actually, the only reason I don't have a P is I haven't found a really cheap one yet).
