Maybe Uruguay to get to the semi-final on that side of the draw...

For that side's quarter-finals I fancy Uruguay - Ghana and Netherlands - Brazil.

For the other side's quarter-finals I fancy Argentina - England and Paraguay - Spain.

USA can be competitive in the rounds of 16 and 8. Can you say Cinderella?

Yeah, they have a reasonable chance of getting to the quarter and maybe even to the semi-finals. Ghana is beatable and then it would probably be Uruguay after that which could be a tough one.

It is possible to have 4 southamerican teams in semi-finals, it will be a dream!

Uruguay have very easy way until semis. Today Chile -except the gross mistakes- have played really well. I was concern about Bielsa's health, seems to be in the edge of a stroke.

I am really anxious about Sunday.

Strange! I also thought Bielsa had breathing problems... Indeed I felt he was trying to calm down because he was worried about his heart... Maybe he was that worried...

About Sunday: I want a goal by Messi... Better two...

Cheers,

Juan

Well if you let a Bolton Wanderers player score against you then you have to say the defending is a bit dodgy! ;) But Uruguay stepped up a gear and stuck it in pretty quickly after that. I think if Uruguay change their tactics slightly and feed those front three a bit more when they're a goal up they might do very well indeed. :)

Well Uruguay is there, good play South Korea but not enough of it. Waiting for best of US-Ghana. Went to the Harbor Market to get some pictures of football craziness!

Don't underrate this Uruguayan team, they have quality, stamina and that most important factor for a championship - LUCK!

Luis Suarez' second goal was a beauty, he's been some player for Ajax this season. You wonder if he'll be playing for them next season. I actually liked the first goal better; a wonderful cross from Forlan and coolly put away by Suarez. Credit to South Korea for coming back from that; they're a very hard-working team but just lack a bit in the technical department I think.

Diego Forlan has been terrific since he left Manchester United. I watched him play for Villareal against Real in the Bernabeau and he was awesome, he won the Europa League with Atletico Madrid a few weeks ago; a quality player and person. What is it with Ferguson that he can't coach South American players? Juan Sebastian Veron, Diego Forlan, Carlos Tevez. Let's hope this new lad Javier Hernandez from Chivas has better luck...

Watching Uruguay-Korea in Montevideo's Harbor Market. (Olympus XA, 1/15 in f/2.8).

The man and girl at the right side were TV reporters, following the action and interviewing people. After the game, there was a popular explosion of madness that lasted for several hours. Wonder what will happen if the team makes it to the finals!

I was out this afternoon.... and am very disappointed. 4 games in a row the US had early let downs... 3 cost them goals against. It is too hard to play that way. They were heroic in coming back and playing tough in their prior matches. They just didn't have any more aces in their hand to play and it cost them the game today. Ghana played well and hard, and the US simply couldn't match them.

I am really happy about Uruguay! Vamos arriba la Celeste!

In the other hand, Ghana deserved the victory, congrazt too!
