The Official RFF FIFA World Cup 2010 Thread

fingers crossed for the dynamic koreans!

edit: WHYYYYYY, WHY WHY WHY?!?! IT'S NOT LIKE TEAMS LIKE ARGENTINA ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF PRESENTS!
(although they haven't scored one single real goal yet.)

This is the way I see own goals: Argentina, with its attack, put South Korea in the position of having to defend a setpiece; ergo, the credit goes to Argentina.

well that ruins my hopes of seeing at least one good game today... at least I got my good cup of coffee in before they scored both.

edit: oh! how did Korea score?!? I turned the volume off and didn't catch it! maybe we do have a game

edit x2: they just showed it! what a goal!!

hat trick for higuain, yet Messi does most of the work.

Argentina looks dangerous going forward

darnit. korea weren't able to play offensive and at the same time maintain a solid defense for 45 minutes, the absolute dominance of the argentinians came back at once with that 3:1.
well well, at least the koreans still have all possibilities to reach the next round.

Argentina - Holy Sh...!

Argentina could well be this year's World Champion. One small thing: Did you see Maradona receive this ball, going off line, on his heel! Followed by a load applause, much more applause than for any of the goals!

I saw Argentina with Maradona play v Norway here in Oslo some years back. The one thing I remember is when Maradona was warming up before the match. He kicked the ball streight up, very high, and damping and receiving the ball perfectly when it came down. He did this over and over again to wild applause from all the Norwegians. What a soccer player!

Geez, I wouldn't mind having a punt on Higuain for the Golden Boot after that performance...

Greece's keeper appears to have his head up his ...

Gave up the first free-kick goal of the Cup, then just knocked the ball out the end line with nobody within 50 yards!

edit: an well, we just witnessed history: their first goal ever scored in the world cup (albeit, against 10 men)

The ref just killed the match. That was too harsh for a red card

I think that red card was perfectly justified. As a player you simply have to know that when you kick someone like that (whether it really hurt the player or not) you get a red card.
