Bring it on! We have been beating Spain for centuries so no worries, besides we can lose against everyone but Spain.
Note: While the feeling on any Portuguese is to beat Spain in any competion, this post is to be read on Joking mode ok! Gracias!

the Portuguese seem to finally have woken up, Spain should be totally manageable for them!
Apart from that, I've noticed a polite silent on the topic of the french team here.

That's because we're all gobsmacked.
A nice draw between Uruguay and Mexico today?

Maybe we should open an ''Official RFF Soap Opera" thread and talk about it there

Wondering if its worth waking up at 4:30 only to watch Greece get annihilated by Argentina... or is there hope for a miracle?

They should all be banned for life from the national team.
Not a soap opera, a lousy reality show called "find the dumbest on the team"

That would be a great match... Especially because CR would have to play against some of his RealMadrid team mates, including the goal keeper Casillas... Fun for sure if it happens, and I think any of the teams could win... I wouldn't mind at all if Spain loses: my team is Messi's team since I was a child... Today we'll see Argentina again in four hours... Enjoy!
Cheers,
Juan

Uruguay was fast and sharp in the first half. Mexico looked like it was surprised to find Uruguay playing for a win rather than a draw ...

Nice to see Martin Palermo score. Argentina look good but let's see how their defense fares against quality forwards.

Maradona is the biggest winner on that one. He took 37 years old Palermo along even he was heavily criticized to do so.Nice to see Martin Palermo score.

I am supporter of Boca Juniors, where Palermo scored more than 220 goals. Even with a complete broken knee have scored.
You can make a movie with Palermo's miracles. I am very happy with his goal.
We are playing better. Veron played great, also Clemente Rodríguez.
Lets see Sunday and keep supporting Argentina!

Argentina looked awfully good against a desperate defense. Greece simply could not get any possession time to cut into Argentina's chances ...

It's a bit of hubris for a Brazilian to say this but I kinda like seeing Argentina play with Maradona as their coach. He really seems to love the game and gets really excited which is nice to see.

And that was subs, Messi not really trying, no real point in winning the game etc.
Overall I'm happy with Greece, they did heaps better than last time.

Ouch! Good joke, bad boy!
We'll see if I'm still laughing tomorrow. The Germans are kinda unpredictable, with their 4:0, 0:1 history...
As to Argentina, I was surprised how long they took to score against the Greeks... makes me wonder if they can tune their performance to their opponents' strength... Plus, I noted, they still keel over when somebody runs past them, creating a little bit of a breeze...

At that point, most of my predictions proved wrong. I think this is just a wide open competition and there is no clear favorite. And remember, some of the previous World Champions barely escaped the group matches while others that dominated early on too easiky just were not ready when intensity increased in following rounds.
