I'd never heard of this camera before last weekend. I saw it at a camera market and the guy wanted $5 for it, so i rescued it.
The EF isnt exactly the most attractive of the Pen series. It's actually really weird. They were apparently the last model released by Olympus, at a time when the popularity of half frames was dropping pretty quickly.
A selenium metered half frame camera, with a flash powered by a AA battery made in the 80's is a strange combination, but it's begun to grow on me.. Even its "unusual" looks.
I'm still pretty new to cameras, but the little EF seems pretty sharp and meters well.
Below is a quick shot of it (for those like me, who had never seen one), and some fun i had with the camera during the week. I was trying out diptychs for the first time. As you can tell, some worked better than others.
Anyway, just thought i'd share my experience with this forgotten Pen model.
cheers 🙂

Tri-x400 in Rodinal 1+50

The original Pen was a 28/3.5 followed by the Pen S with a 30/2.8 lens then the D with 32/1.9 (I think 1.9), the range of shutter speeds getting bigger too. The Pen EE had a light meter surrounding the lens but was fixed focus. The Pen W was black paint and had a 25/2.8 lens, otherwise it was a Pen S. There was also a Pen D2 and I think a D3. The the F series SLR's came along. Great little cameras with fantastic lenses.

Wow, congrats!
The lens renders pretty sharp pics I'd say...

haha, when i actually get them in focus that is! (I had no idea what the minimum focus distance was.. now i do)
My scanner is quite poor too, so i never get much detail from the negatives.
It's just a fun little camera that gets some funny looks and comments when you bring it out 😀
