I shot this at a wedding recently using a Voigtlander VCii meter.
Your M2 would be fine for color work.
Leica M3, DR Summicron 50mm, Fuji Pro 400.

How do people feel about a Hexar RF as a second body to a M6 or M7?

Unhappy. I'd much rather have two very similar cameras so I don't have to worry about control layout.

To be a bit harsh and direct, if you can afford a second M, you can afford a decent light meter.
Get one of the meters that slide into the shoe. Or just buy a handheld meter.
That's the route that I would take. Then there's none of this meter with one camera and shoot with another, which becomes especially tricky if you load each camera with a different ISO film.

I'm surprised no-one has suggested the obvious - ditch the M2 and just get another MP. Or the other way around!

This works far better with an original digital RAW file than a color neg.
I have yet to see a plug-in that can emulate the look of an original B&W neg in a conversion from a color neg. Maybe I'm a purist, or perhaps just a realist.
That and black and white wet prints from a color neg just look sad. You don't shoot film to fix everything in post on a computer, right?

get a m6 if it doesn't hurts. i shoot more b&w than color so i got m3 with m6 as a backup
