I have been blessed with more than one rangefinder camera and I think I would like to share some of my wealth with others. So here is my plan: I loan out up to 3 rangefinder cameras for a period of 2 months to individuals that I find worthy. If there is no response to this thread then of course I will not be lending out any cameras.
I think for this first go I will loan out a Canon Ql-17 G-III, an Olympus RC, and a Yashica GSN. One rangefinder per person. Rules? Of course there are rules!! Here they are:
1. You post a reason why I should consider loaning you my camera.
2. I will pick who to send to by noon CST Thursday June 1, 2006. No democracy here. Based on my poor luck in having packages delivered outside of the U.S.A. this first time is limited to US and Canada.
3 .I will cover shipping one way.
4. You have the camera for 2 months from the day I ship it. Use it. Buy your own film color, b&w or both. You pay for your own film processing.
5. You pay for insured shipping to return camera to me($50 value is OK)..
6. You send me what you consider to be the TWO BEST photographs you made with this camera. I will let you decide on print size and all those details. I can dry mount & frame so don't waste your money on that nonsense.
7. Let a family member know what is going on so that if something happens to you I can still have my camera back.
8. All costs incurred due to your addiction to a rangefinder format cameras are your responsibility.
As with anything mechanical there is the risk that something breaks. All I ask is that you take care of the camera. Don't use it as a hammer or club. Don't take it apart to see what it looks like inside. If it should happen to break or get run over by a truck just send me the pieces and a good story. Bonus points for originality will be awarded.
