Well, it might not be the sexiest but I just adore my slightly brassed black FM2n. I think its size and utilitarian design is just right for me.

F3 with the original Guigiaro red stripe, and MD-4 (also Guigiaro designed). A guy that designs Ferraris and other high end cars for a living knows sexy!

F4 is also Guigiaro designed, but I don't have any experience with it.

Yep, tiny red dot, by the serial number, indicating that it fits the Photomic finders.

The F3 with the MD4 is one slick design - and it works very well. It lacks that F feel that the old F's had. Sharp edges and inconvinient film-loading. How many of us have dropped that back at some time? That includes dropping a F36 in a mud-puddle! I did it, wiped off the inside, stuck it back on the F and fired it up.
The MD4 is a smarter set up - reasonable "burp" from the advance, great grip on it - actually feels lighter than it is.
However, it is not a F - more like a tool but with no charm. The F is the old F 150 Ford pick-up of cameras and the F3 is more of a modern SUV - a bit bland, but gets the job done.
This is shot with another F3 HP and the Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 at closest focussing and f1.4.

When I think Nikon SLR I think rugged, durable, classic, functional, robust, and many other adjectives, but never sexy! Not even in black.

Well, okay...a black F3 is pretty easy on the eyes, I'll admit 🙂

I've never thought of cameras as being sexy, always having reserved the description for hot looking ladies in lingerie, however the best looking Nikon for me is the F5.
No bits hanging off like the F4 or indeed anything before it. It just looks right.

Went through quite some trouble to find me a black paint F with a plain prism and once I had it, I wondered 'what's the fuzz?' and let go of it.

There's two black paint, brassed and battered Nikkormats in my cabinet and I would not trade them for any other mechanical Nikon. They take any Nikkor lens, Pre-AI, AI, AIs, AF, AF-S, you name it. I gave one to a friend, looked like it had been used as a hammer and was stuck. He fixed it in <5 mins and it worked.

When it comes to sexy, I like it when they go on and on and on 😛😀😛😀

Yeah, Nikkormats...look like an F with a plain prism but also with a meter in the top plate! Any other camera with the meter like that?🙂
