The Strangest Things Happen Here at RFF!!!

Super cool photos.

Just a plain room, low ceilings, paneling. How mundane!

A modern press conference would have them in front of a fully logo'd wall...

OK you caught me, maybe I am getting old. naw no way.

I have one shot of the front of the camera fairly close and I looked with a magnifying glass and yes it is the 35/2.5.
I have been looking for some record of the serial# of the body but have not found it yet. I have printed sheets of my early Nikon RF collection items all duly listed with numbers, but not that camera and lens. I guess I must have not thought of it as collectible when I was collecting :~)
Here is a severe crop from an 8x10 print.

Glad to hear my eyes aren't playing tricks on me 🙂

A black black-dial S2, final version 35/2.5, and black 35mm brightline finder sure is a nice setup!

Chalie Finley who brought the Beatles to KC 1964

Here is the photo I made of Kansas City A's owner Charlie Finley goofing off with a Beatles wig and tickets to the concert.

So much recent history it is amazing.
I also noticed the beatles all smoking.
In the photo of Finley in the wig, the stewardess in the background looks black. This is 1964. Maybe it's Bitish airlines. Even if I'm wrong, the photo made me think, and that is what they do best.

I was around 5 when this took place but I remember the Beatles on Ed Sulivan. My uncle was in late teens so he had all the Beatles albums as they rose in fame. I didn't really like the Beatles music until Sgt. Peppers & the White album. Anyhow thanks for sharing, this was great.

brilliant story I just love old pictures of old cameras!

Fraser and all reading this post, I have just started my first gallery here at rangefinderforum. Take a look. The gallery has photos of photographers I have known or encountered over the years while covering stories for UPI and beyond when I was free-lancing.

I started shooting other photogs for two reasons. Some were friends and I wanted photos of them and I wanted to record the equipment being used at the time. And a plus is the style of clothing at the time. :~)

I will add more photos. I have many hundreds in my files.

Very cool story!

It does look like an f/2.5 to me, also.

Here is an f/1.8:

Finally got around to taking a photo of the f1.8 and f2.5 side by side 🙂
