My M8 is 30 minutes away from me at the UPS sorting facility. They won't release it until they attempt a delivery, and they won't attempt a delivery until tomorrow. Showed up after the trucks had left for the morning. GGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

I feel with you.
My new (refursbished) E-P2 was to be delivered two days ago when the whole country [Belgium] was (supposed to be) hit by a general strike.
UPS duly sent me a re-schedule email and I thought CENSORED.
11:30 the UPS guy came... QUE? Or as they say in this country: QUE?
Of course I damaged my back Sunday and have been unable to get out shooting with it. But it sits right next to me
I hope your M8 will be with you tomorrow Mudman
Cheers,

Shooter of Film...
I feel your pain...same type of thing happened to me when I was waiting for my first Mamiya m645...first the UPS guy stopped by the house, never attempted to ring the doorbell but just left a note saying he would try later...later meant Monday...
So late Friday night I drive on down to the UPS building at the airport, get in this long line of other grumpy customers and wait...
Finally the trucks get there, the computers are down so they just start calling names off the boxes...got mine said Good Luck the the others and headed home...

Go out, do something cool, and forget about it until tomorrow.

I'm out with my nikon d300 at the moment. Had to go to work for a newspaper for a bit. Friend got into a car accident so I'm covering her shift.
First lens on the M8? 50mm collapsible summicron or 35mm f3.5 summaron most likely.

congrats! what lens are you using? and do you have a uv/ir filter for it? there are different brands of filters available, i'm not sure which to go for...
If your used M8 hasn't been registered, you may be eligible for two free Leica filters...

Don;t assume it is registered. I've owned two M8s and both were not registered.

Hehe... I got my M8 through a photographer in my street. I really wanted to buy it but then it appeared there was a daily limit on what ATM's are willing to give you of your own money per day. So I had to return the next day... long day... while reading the manual he gave me to read until I had the money. Enjoy your M8, it's my fave camera now.
